Governance and follow-up

Our goals

JM has conducted a materiality analysis to identify its material sustainability aspects – the areas that are considered to be the most important for JM's long-term value creation and in which JM strives to improve.

In order to make improvements in operations for each sustainability aspect, we have prepared long-term goals to achieve by 2030, which are in line with the UN's sustainable development goals, as well as more short-term operational goals.

Our ambition and fundamental values

JM's sustainability management is based on our Sustainability Policy, which describes the commitment and the ambition of the Group with regard to sustainability.

Our sustainability management is strongly anchored in JM's management and is an integral part of JM's strategy. It is based on our core values (quality, long-term approach, reliability, commitment and sensitivity), which form the basis for our approach, both internally and externally.

Operations system

The operations system is the Group's management system. In all material respects it meets the ISO standards for quality and environmental management. The purpose of the system is to support and steer our operations toward a uniform method of working, with lower costs and improved customer value.

The system is an important part of JM's structural capital, and it offers a compilation of experiences and knowledge that can be used throughout all of our operations. JM follows up on targets and requirements in the operations system via non-conformity and key figure reports, as well as with internal audits.

The measures and improvements that we implement in the area of sustainability have a direct impact on the entire operations thanks to the operations system. This means that we achieve a high, steady level of sustainability management in all of our projects and not just certain pilot projects.

Compliance – we keep our promises

The requirements that govern our operations and the goals that drive our development at JM in relation to sustainability are constantly monitored through, for example, case management, departure and deviation management, internal audits, assessments and audits of suppliers and contractors, different types of inspections and key figure collection.

JM has two forums that have an overarching responsibility for sustainability management:

  • JM's Quality and Environmental Council is responsible for joint governance of the Group's operations. The CEO and the Group's business units and regional managers are included in this council, as is the head of sustainability.
  • JM's Sustainability Council – responsible for the coordination of the Group's sustainability management. The CEO, several members of executive management and the head of sustainability are included in this council.

Accounting principles in the Sustainability Report

We describe our sustainability management in an annual sustainability report, which is included in the Annual Report. The report describes how well financial, environmental and social goals and indicators have been met. The Sustainability Report adheres to GRI's guidelines (GRI G4 Core level).
